Isn't the capture device I have now
a hardware MPEG2 encoder?
Here are some simple hints how to check.
--Did you pay less than $500?
--Is it capable of capturing file types such as MPEG4 or AVI?
--Does in require a minimum 500Mhz+ CPU?
--Does it come with Ligos or other MPEG conversion software?
--Is it ADS, ATI, Dazzle, Snazzi, or Pinnacle (consumer line) ?
If you answered yes to any of the above, the capture device you have
is, most likely, not a hardware encoder but uses your system's CPU to do
the encoding.
